Description:
(EDI) is a membrane separation process which bases on the pulse of potential difference by using the counter ion migration theory of charged ionic membrane to separate charged ions from aqueous solution and other electrically neutral components under the effect of direct current field.
Multiple sets of cation and anion exchange membranes which are arranged alternately and placed within the electrodialyzer, and with the action of direct current field the anion moves through anionic membrane to the cathode direction and cation moves through cationic membrane to the anode direction.
